The Cincinnati Bengals were more active than usual in the leadup to Week 8.
Cincinnati added free-agent guard Quinton Spain to the practice squad and traded away Carlos Dunlap.
It also turns out the team worked out a pair of free agents, per the league’s transaction wire:
- TE Troy Fumagalli
- DB Brian Allen
Allen is a former fifth-round pick from 2017 who has spent time with several different teams so far, most recently missing on final cuts in Buffalo.
Fumagalli was a fifth-rounder by the Denver Broncos in 2018 and has six career catches with one touchdown. He was just released from the Houston Texans’ practice squad.
With injuries hitting both positions, it’s no surprise the Bengals looked at both spots in free agency. They’ve made minor moves with the practice squad in recent weeks after giving players tryouts, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see either of these guys signed in the coming weeks.
