The Indianapolis Colts will be vying for a playoff spot if the second half of their season goes according to plan and as it stands now, they will be picking in the back half of the first round in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Yes, the draft is super far away and with the Colts seemingly making a push for one of the final seeds in the AFC playoff picture, the draft is not a major focus right now. But there’s nothing hurt in checking where the Colts currently sit.
It’s bound to change from this writing to the end of the season but entering Week 8, the Colts currently hold the No. 20 overall pick in the 2021 draft.
Even halfway through the season, the top needs for Indy are beginning to become clear.
The quarterback position may be close to the top of the list if one of the top prospects fall—even after selecting Jacob Eason in 2020. The cornerback position is likely a need while wide receiver and tight end could also be near the top of the list as well.
Again, the draft is a long ways away, and the Colts are focused on the here and now with the playoff push starting up.
But just keep this as a small reminder as to where the Colts currently sit because draft season is never truly over.
