Not only is Kyrie Irving one of the biggest names in all of basketball, the Nets point guard also one of the best sets of basketball kicks available in stores. And fans will soon be able to get their hands on a pair of Irving’s next sneaker, the Kyrie 7’s, which are set to hit stores on November 11.
But Brooklyn it’s just home to one pair of impressive, signature basketball sneakers. Kevin Durant also has his KD’s.
And now that the two have combined forces in Brooklyn and are set to take the floor for the Nets in 2020-21, they’ve decided they want to collaborate on more than the basketball court.
Ben Nethongkome, Irving’s co-designer for the Kyrie 7’s, told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News after the point guard showed off his new shoe to Durant, the two got to talking about another joint venture:
“It kind of spawned into, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if we collaborated on something together in the near future?’ And right then and there, KD was like, ‘Of course.’ So we’re excited to have some level of interaction between those two in terms of product creation in the near future.”
