It’s reasonable to assume that many Washington fans were too busy celebrating after RB Antonio Gibson’s touchdown on Sunday to notice what the rookie did following his 12-yard run. The former third-round pick out of Memphis did the patented ‘Chalk Celebration’ that has been made famous by NBA legend LeBron James.
After the 25-3 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Gibson said that his celebration was an ode to the superstar who recently won his fourth NBA championship, this time with the Los Angeles Lakers.
“LeBron won a championship, so shoutout to him,” Gibson remarked.
As a noted Cowboys fan, LeBron may not have loved the touchdown from Gibson, but I’m sure he can appreciate the respect.
Gibson finished the game with 20 rushes for 128 yards and a touchdown, arguably the best game of his career. We can expect more fun celebration from him in the future, that’s for sure.
