As the Philadelphia 76ers and the NBA enter an uncertain offseason, now is the time to get some player debates in. Now is the time to place the many talented players in the NBA into tiers to truly get an idea of where the player ranks in today’s game.
In an experiment done by The Athletic, they have done just that placing players into five tiers. They have taken the time to break the players down using a specific formula and they recently came out with their fourth tier of players.
In this fourth tier was Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris who was grouped into a “versatile wings” category with guys like Danilo Gallinari, Joe Ingles, and Gordon Hayward.
The Athletic on the group as a whole:
This group of bigger wings who can all shoot, facilitate and even slide to the power forward slot at times doesn’t have the kind of elite individual talents needed to push its members into Tier 3, but by virtue of that versatility and range of skills are still highly valuable performers.
Harris certainly qualifies as a versatile wing as he is a player who can swing between either forward spot and he can shoot it from deep or put the ball on the floor and finish at the basket. Under new coach Doc Rivers, he is expected to be used a bit differently in order to unlock more of his game. [lawrence-related id=38553,38550,38538]
