Oklahoma, especially Alex Grinch, will give players a pretty good idea if they have a chance of making an impact at some point.
Grinch has talked about wanting to play 22 or more players every week. The Oklahoma defense has gotten close to that point, as the Sooners offense has been rotating players in and out for much of the year at each position group.
The Sooners’ defensive line is stout and newcomers as well as future players continue to get better and better. Redshirt junior Zacchaeus McKinney has not been a part of those plans in the second year of Grinch’s system.
He has reportedly been the first player for the Sooners to enter the transfer portal for 2020.

Oklahoma and Grinch lost seven players off its roster in 2019 to the transfer portal. The Sooners are trying to turn over this defense as much as possible with players recruited by the second-year defensive coordinator.
McKinney came to the Sooners as a three-star recruit from Weatherford, Texas. He played in one game during his three years and change at Oklahoma.
