Oh, what a difference a year makes. A year and the return of a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback that is. This time last season, the Steelers were 1-4 and everyone was wondering which quarterback Pittsburgh might draft with their Top-5 draft pick.
But this season the Steelers sit at 5-0 and are one of the elite teams in the AFC. So much so the smart guys over at Touchdown Wire have the Steelers currently sitting at No. 1 in their latest NFL power rankings.
With the Seattle Seahawks idle, the Steelers move up a notch into the top spot. How long they stay there remains to be seen, but right now they seem like the Steelers of old: A tough defense, and an offense that can hit you with some big plays in the passing game while imposing their will up front.
If there was ever anything to jinx the Steelers this might be it. Pittsburgh faces off on the road this week with the undefeated Tennessee Titans but regardless of what they have done, they need to keep their eyes forward and take it one day at a time.
