Baker Mayfield had a terrible first half in Pittsburgh. His first pass was returned for a touchdown by Steelers’ DB Minkah Fitzpatrick. Sadly it did not get much better for Mayfield.
From playing with sore ribs to a wretched performance by his offensive line against a great Steelers defensive front, it was a rough first half to witness. It led many to clamor for not witnessing any more of Mayfield in the game…
Keenum in 2nd half? #Browns

I’m not giving up on Baker Mayfield, but you gotta put Case Keenum in here. Baker might not admit it but he’s playing hurt

Baker Mayfield is now holding back a super talented offense & very capable coaching staff.

It's also nearing Case Keenum time in Cleveland…

Some did take a more measured approach and acknowledge the broader circumstances surrounding Mayfield’s unacceptable level of play:
Baker is our QB. This isn’t a bench him post. But he don’t look right out there and why get him more hurt for the next few weeks. Let’s see what Keenum can do the second half.

Baker Mayfield is very clearly banged up. He looks miserable out there and the #Browns O-line is not doing him any favors today. Bringing in Case Keenum today might be inevitable, but I don't think that equates to giving up on Baker.

Big ben to James Washington, 28 yards, touchdown.#Steelers 24, #Browns 0.
This one's over. Put Case Keenum in.

There is no way Baker Mayfield is not hurting physically. He has to be fighting through some intense pain.
