Packers host former Ravens LB Alvin Jones and 3 others on tryouts

The Packers hosted a tryout for Alvin Jones, the twin brother of Packers RB Aaron Jones, on Wednesday.

The twin brother of Packers running back Aaron Jones was in Green Bay for a tryout on Wednesday.

The NFL’s official personnel notice reported tryouts for the Packers with linebacker Alvin Jones, guard Ben Braden, offensive tackle Paul Adams and center Zach Shackelford.

Jones, who went to school his brother at UTEP, signed with the Baltimore Ravens after going undrafted in 2018. He remained in Baltimore for two seasons but was released with an injury settlement in September of 2019.

At UTEP, Jones produced 343 tackles, 40 tackles for losses, 15 sacks, seven pass breakups, one interception and three forced fumbles. He was a three-time All-Conference USA selection.

Braden, an undrafted free agent from Michigan, spent two months on the Packers’ practice squad in 2019. He was most recently with the New England Patriots.

Adams went undrafted out of Missouri in 2019. He’s spent time with the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and the Washington Football Team.

Shackelford signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He started 40 games at Texas and was a two-time All-Big 12 selection. The Bucs released him during final roster cuts.
