Should the Eagles have interest in Le’Veon Bell after his release from the Jets?

Le’Veon Bell is a free agent after being released by the New York Jets. With the Eagles needing playmakers all over the field, Howie Roseman should show interest.

The Philadelphia Eagles are in need of playmakers on offense and one of the NFL’s most versatile running backs is now a free agent after the New York Jets released Le’Veon Bell outright.

Despite the Eagles’ current salary cap woes, the Jets are on the hook for Bell’s $6 million salary in 2020, and his $8 million base salary for 2021 was guaranteed for injury only. The Eagles currently have Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Corey Clement, and Jason Huntley in the backfield.

From a fit standpoint, it could work as the Eagles love to throw the ball to running backs and Bell would definitely help the Eagles from a yards after the catch standpoint.

Bell’s ability as a pass-catcher could translate well to what the Eagles do while ensuring that Sanders doesn’t wear down by seasons end.

Bell has definitely lost a step and the last time the 28-year old running back had a 20+ yard rush was in the Steelers playoff loss to the Jaguars back in 2018.

In two games this season with the Jets, Bell has rushed for 74 yards on 19 carries (3.9 per) while also catching 3 passes for 39 yards on the season.
