Stephon Gilmore’s wife Gabrielle Gilmore took to Twitter to set the record straight after seeing a report about New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton and the cornerback having dinner together on the same Friday that Newton tested positive for COVID-19.
The report surfaced from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. And it seemed to explain why Gilmore tested positive during the following week. It also bred some skepticism as to why Gilmore was allowed to play against the Kansas City Chiefs (and get face to face with quarterback Patrick Mahomes) in Week 6. If Newton and Gilmore had dinner together, Gilmore probably shouldn’t have been allowed to play.
Gabrielle Gilmore is here to say that dinner never happened.
There was no dinner out, I’m going to help you out so you guys stop reporting false news https://t.co/k9UxrnVWoQ
