The New England Patriots did not see any players test positive for COVID-19 in their round of results from Monday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The team could return to the practice field on Wednesday, if their results for Tuesday produce no positive results.
New England has four players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Quarterback Cam Newton, cornerback Stephon Gilmore and defensive tackle Byron Cowart tested positive. Defensive tackle Bill Murray is also on the list, but it hasn’t been reported whether he tested positive.
Bill Belichick has been coy about when his players might return from the list, but Newton is eligible to return to practice on Wednesday if he has been consistently asymptomatic, as has been reported, and if he gets the approval or a team physician.
The #Patriots and #Chiefs also had no new positives from Monday's COVID-19 testing, per source.
If all stays on track, New England planning to return to practice field Wednesday following its unexpected bye.

Gilmore, meanwhile, will likely have to wait until Friday. That allows 10 days to pass since he first tested positive. He, too, would need to have been asymptomatic. He would also need the approval of a team physician.
