The broadcast of the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek will incorporate Bet MGM betting odds during all four rounds, the PGA Tour announced Monday.
The decision marks the first time betting odds will be incorporated into a PGA Tour broadcast. The broadcast plans to feature leaderboards with integrated “open” and “current” odds to win, odds for head-to-head matchups, top finishes, winning margin, wire-to-wire winner, hole-in-ones and playoffs twice every hour.
BetMGM previously signed a multi-year content and marketing relationship with the PGA Tour to become an Official Betting Operator in August. BetMGM also has a partnership with Golfweek and USA Today Sports.
“We are excited to build upon our recently announced Official Betting Operator relationship with BetMGM by activating this partnership at The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek,” said Norb Gambuzza, PGA Tour Senior Vice President, Media and Gaming. “The focus of our sports betting partnerships is to engage fans in new and creative ways. As an element of that strategy, we began integrating live odds onto Tour digital platforms in August and now we look forward to learning from this first-time test in a live telecast.”
PGA Tour Live integrated live betting odds during the first and second rounds of the Wyndham Championship in August.
The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek, previously the CJ Cup at Nine Bridges held on Jeju Island in South Korea but moved due to the coronavirus pandemic, will begin Thursday at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada.
