Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott left Sunday’s game against the Giants and immediately went to the hospital after suffering a compound fracture and dislocated right ankle. He had surgery on Sunday night.
Prescott sustained the injury while battling for extra yardage against a Logan Ryan tackle in the second half. As Prescott went to the ground, his ankle buckled under Ryan’s leg. It was a freak injury, and few people were feeling worse about seeing Prescott hurt than Ryan himself.
Ryan spoke at length after the game to offer his reaction to Prescott’s injury. He discussed, specifically, how he hopes Prescott still gets the huge contract he deserves and said he plans to reach out to the Cowboys quarterback.
"The worst thing that happened today was the Dak injury, bigger than football… I hope he gets 500 million when he comes back, he deserves it"

Ryan said:
“He was tearing it up there. He was making it hard on me. And that’s why this sucks, man. You got a guy who — he’s scratching and clawing, one year on his deal, try to get rewarded, try to do the right thing, try to show up for work, try to lead his team, try to get a lucrative contract. And had to come out and prove it this year. And for him to get that type of injury — that’s why I feel like, Dak, I hope he gets $500 million when he comes back. He deserves it. He’s a helluva quarterback. That was nothing but a routine tackle, two competitors. He’s trying to stiff-arm me. I’m trying to tackle him, punch the ball out.”
Back in 2018, Ryan — with the Titans at the time — suffered a fractured fibula in a game against the Giants. He managed to come back and play all 16 games in 2019. So while the injuries were different, Ryan was optimistic that Prescott would be back as well.
Just all class from Ryan.
