Former Celtic Marcus Georges-Hunt to sign with CBA’s Jiangsu Dragons

Former Boston Celtics shooting guard Marcus Georges-Hunt has reportedly accepted a deal to sign with the CBA’s Jiangsu Dragons.

Former Boston Celtics shooting guard Marcus Georges-Hunt has reportedly signed a deal in the Chinese Basketball Association’s (CBA) Jiangsu Dragons, according to Yahoo Sports’ Keith Smith.

A product of Georgia Tech, Georges-Hunt first played for the Celtics on a camp deal heading into the 2016-17 NBA season, but was cut and instead played for the Maine Red Claws as an affiliate player that season.

The Miami, Florida native would play stints with the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves — his last stop with an NBA franchise — before signing another camp deal with the Celtics in October of 2018.

Yet again, the Floridian guard did not make the team, and finished out the 2018-19 season playing for the Red Claws until an injury ended his season with Boston’s G League affiliate.

Georges-Hunt put up a career average of 1.6 points and 0.5 rebounds per game in the NBA.
