To say the Dallas Cowboys have disappointed through the quarter pole of the 2020 season would be an understatement. This is a team that was a trendy pick to challenge for the NFC’s top seed and make noise in the postseason. With just one win, they’re fighting for a top spot in a historically bad division.
They are one of four teams that has failed to cover a single spread. With the listless New York Giants and former head coach Jason Garrett coming to town, the spread opened with the Cowboys favored by 9.5 points. The bettors knocked that down at BETMGM to 7.5 throughout the week with an over/under of 52.5.
The Giants have yet to score 20 points or record 300 yards in a single game this season while the Cowboys can’t stop allowing points to be scored. This is a team that gave up more points to the Cleveland Browns than New York as put up in their four games combined.
Something has to give. And no team has been in a more charitable mood than Dallas, who is tied for the league lead in giveaways with nine. Don’t worry, the team remains vigilant in their steadfast refusal to generate turnovers, recording just two. The Cowboys defense was genetically modified in a lab to make offenses look dynamic, certainly they’re capable of making Garrett-led Giants offense look competent,
The Verdict: The Cowboys fail to cover the -7.5 point spread and the over of 52.5 comes through.
On the season: 1-3 ATS, 1-3 over/under
