The Tennessee Titans received another positive COVID-19 test on Sunday, this time from a staff member, the team announced. It is the first positive test in two days and the team is now shutting down its facility temporarily.
The Titans released this statement in the wake of their latest positive test, per John Glennon of Broadway Sports:
“This morning we learned that a staff member tested positive. We have temporarily closed our facility and are in communication with the league on the next steps.”
Tennessee was supposed to get in another practice on Sunday and a walk-through on Monday after hitting the practice field for the first time in two weeks on Saturday.
The Titans are scheduled to take on the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday night in Week 5, a game that was already moved from Sunday. We’ll have to see how the league handles this latest positive and if the game actually gets played.
Since September 29, the Titans have seen 12 players and 11 personnel members test positive for the virus, based on reports. No player has tested positive since Thursday, though.
