Report: Patriots-Broncos remains on schedule, for now

A Monday night game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos remains on schedule pending further COVID-19 testing.

The New England Patriots were forced to shut down their facilities for the third time in 10 days following their fourth positive test for COVID-19 on Saturday night.

The shut-down came less than 24 hours after their facilities were finally reopened, which was the result of three consecutive days without a positive test.

Despite the facility closure however, the Monday night game between New England and the Denver Broncos, which had already been pushed back from Sunday, remains on schedule. At least for now.

The Patriots will conduct another round of testing on Sunday and those results will obviously factor into a decision on the game. Should everything come back negative and those negative results persist on Monday, the game will likely be played.

If, however, additional tests come back positive on either Sunday or Monday, the NFL may have no other choice than to postpone or cancel the game, which will likely lead to a slew of additional scheduling issues.
