[autotag]Mike Perry[/autotag] will have an extra cornerman for his upcoming fight against [autotag]Robbie Lawler[/autotag], and it’s not a coach.
Perry, who had only his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez, in his corner for his last fight, has opted to have another person join her for his next outing at UFC 255.
“Platinum” took to Twitter to offer fans the chance to pay him to be in his corner, and after a couple of days, we have a winner – maybe. Twitter user “LuckyNutsPoker1” apparently was the highest bidder and heard back from Perry directly.

Darren Till said he would offer $5,000 to corner Perry, then tweeted as though he’d be the one to join Gonzalez.
Now that I’m in @PlatinumPerry ‘s corner,
How much will someone pay me to throw the towel in.?

Hold, though. Perry’s manager, Malki Kawa of First Round Management, says there’s interest from NFL players. Seriously?
Hold your horses… I got a few calls from some of my @NFL clients to potentially corner him… this is crazy!!! https://t.co/JON6CRWQr7

After that, some trolling continued from Till.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Perry explained that he doesn’t see the use of having coaches give him advice when they’re not the ones competing. He said he only needs someone to wipe him down and give him water, and that’s exactly what his girlfriend did when Perry was able to snap a two-fight losing skid with a unanimous decision win over Gall in June.
UPDATE: Till has created a GoFund Me to help his cause.
The Blue Corner is MMA Junkie’s blog space. We don’t take it overly serious, and neither should you. If you come complaining to us that something you read here is not hard-hitting news, expect to have the previous sentence repeated in ALL CAPS.
