NBA Finals Game 4: Adebayo again hopes to play, unlikely Dragic returns in series

The Miami Heat’s stars both provided updates with Bam Adebayo hopeful again that he will play and Goran Dragic less so.

The Miami Heat were given new life and added at least a couple of extra days to their season after Jimmy Butler put together an all-time NBA Finals performance against the Los Angeles Lakers to get on the board in the best-of-seven series, which the Lakers still lead 2-1. Since the injuries in Game 1 to Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, the Heat have held out hope that both players could return. However, Adebayo is looking a lot more likely to play than Dragic is based on the latest status reports both provided on Monday.

Dragic, who completely tore the plantar in his left foot, said he feels better but admitted it’s a very “low percentage” that he plays at all in the series, according to ESPN’s Marc Spears.

Meanwhile, Adebayo is singing the same tune he was singing about being hopeful to play that he was before Game 3, before ultimately being ruled out a few hours before the game. Adebayo also says he feels better and Game 4 will mark six days since he got injured.

But it will be up to the Heat medical staff, not Adebayo or Erik Spoelstra, whether he will suit up for Game 4.
