After quarterback Tom Brady led the Buccaneers down the field for an easy score to start the game, rookie quarterback Justin Herbert answered on the first offensive drive.
The Chargers ran a play action play to allow wide receiver Tyron Johnson to get behind the defense. With Johnson wide open, Herbert used his cannon of an arm to find him for the score.
