According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game between the Patriots and the Chiefs.
The matchup between New England and Kansas City is the most exciting on the NFL’s slate for Week 4. Newton’s positive test could put the game at risk of being postponed. At the moment the Patriots have delayed their flight to Kansas City, which was supposed to leave at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Patriots supposed to leave for KC at 1; flight is not leaving then, and Pats players leaving team facility.

There’s a lot to unpack here, especially considering the news that the Titans have 16 total positive tests and their schedule looking very much in jeopardy for the foreseeable future.
What matters most at this time is Newton’s health and the health of his family and teammates.
These are scary times. We wish Newton the best, as well as everyone else who is suffering from COVID-19 right now.
