Oklahoma will get a chance to bounce back from its surprising, unexpected loss to start Big 12 play on Saturday night in primetime.
The Sooners are on the road in Ames, Iowa, to take on Matt Campbell and Iowa State. The Cyclones have been a thorn in Lincoln Riley’s side for much of the last three years.
Iowa State upset Oklahoma in 2017 in Campbell’s second year with the Cyclones. They pushed the Sooners in 2018 before Kyler Murray and Oklahoma pulled it out on the road and then Iowa State about pulled off the upset again in 2019.
Teams change from year-to-year, but Oklahoma has no more room for error. Iowa State is 1-1 after a season-opening loss and the Sooners are also 1-1 after the loss to Kansas State last week.
Oklahoma’s Big 12 Championship streak is on the ropes and the Sooners are only seven-point favorites on the road in Ames, Iowa.
