Former Boston Celtics reserve point guard Jonathan Gibson has signed a deal with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) according to Yahoo Sports’ Keith Smith.
Gibson, a product of New Mexico State who went undrafted in the 2010 NBA Draft, first linked up with the Celtics in 2012 as a member of their Summer League team, and would later join the team on an end-of-season deal in April of 2018.
He’d return again the following season to help fill out a banged-up regular-season roster, but did not take the floor for the team in his second stint.

The West Covina, California native has since played for several CBA clubs and the Windy City Bulls (the developmental affiliate of the Chicago Bulls in the G League), and will now take the place of former NBAer Jeremy Lin, who is looking to make a comeback in the NBA this coming season, according to SI’s Sam Amico.
