The Philadelphia 76ers are breaking down their coaching candidates list as they inch closer to choosing their next coach to replace Brett Brown. The list compiles some big names from Tyronn Lue to Mike D’Antoni and now Doc Rivers is added to the list.
After parting ways with the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, the Sixers immediately expressed interest as they reached out to him that day. Rivers is now set to meet with the team in the Philadelphia area.
Rivers has had a lot of success in the league and he knows how to handle stars such as Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons and he even had very high praise for the two of them earlier in the season. It will be interesting to see how the meeting turns out for him and the team.

Rivers has also been high on Al Horford as he believes he will be able to fit with the current Sixers roster. All of those factors will go into the decision on hiring the next coach so general manager Elton Brand certainly has some work to do. [lawrence-related id=38003,38000,37993]
