One of the questions hanging over the Cleveland Browns entering the season was how rookie head coach Kevin Stefanski would handle the talented RB duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Through three games, the early answer is: very well.
Chubb and Hunt have each rushed for over 200 yards total in the first three games. They are the only team to have two players over 150. Chubb currently ranks fourth in the NFL with 292 rushing yards while Hunt is 13th with 204.
Not only are they getting the opportunities, but Chubb and Hunt are also making the most of their carries, too.
Per Next Gen Stats, Chubb and Hunt lead the league in rushing yards over expectation this year – 103 and 83 yards, respectively. The Browns blocking has been good, but the dynamic Cleveland duo is also making great things happen on their own volition. Hunt also has eight receptions, two of them ending as touchdowns.
The balance between the two has been a key factor in why the Browns have a winning record for the first time since the middle of the 2014 season. They’re finding plenty of opportunities to share in Stefanski’s offense.
