Patriots’ Belichick wishes Celtics good luck in Game 6 vs Heat

From one New England coach to another, the Patriots’ chief Bill Belichick wished Boston’s Brad Stevens good luck ahead of the Celtics Game 6 tilt with the Miami Heat.

“[I’ll] sign off by saying good luck to Brad [Stevens] and the Celtics tonight — we’ll be pulling for them.”

So closed New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in a press conference this Sunday afternoon.

After a strong win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the Patriots head honcho wished the Boston Celtics good luck in their Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Finals series tipping off at 6:30 pm Eastern Time.

The two New England coaches have developed a friendship over the years, each supporting the other in important moments as Belichick does ahead of Boston’s must-win elimination game this evening.

“I just saw that clip, that’s nice,” offered Stevens after being asked if he’d heard Belichick’s comments.

“Another great win for them,” observed the Celtics coach. “We’ve always appreciated his and the entire Patriots organization support. We miss playing a TD Garden where, if this was a playoff game we’d be looking around and a lot of them would be here.”

“So, [we] certainly appreciate that sentiment from him,” he added.

Coming back from a 3-1 deficit is the sort of rallying the Patriots know all about, so here’s to hoping a little of that New England luck holds strong for Boston in Game 6.
