Rams injury report: Cam Akers out vs. Bills, Williams questionable

Cam Akers has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bills.

The Rams have wrapped up their week of practice in Thousand Oaks ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Bills, and although they’re close to full strength for Week 3, Cam Akers is still recovering from a rib injury suffered against the Eagles.

He missed practice for the third straight day on Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Akers left the game on the Rams’ opening drive last week after suffering a rib injury. He was quickly ruled out, carrying the ball just three times for 13 yards against Philadelphia.

The second-round rookie has started each of the Rams’ first two games of the season but has been limited to only 17 carries.

Additionally, Darious Williams is listed as questionable for the game, but he’s expected to play, according to Sean McVay.

Malcolm Brown, who’s healthy for Week 3 despite fracturing his pinky on Sunday, and Darrell Henderson will handle the bulk of the carries in Akers’ absence.

However, McVay said Xavier Jones will be the No. 3 running back, so he could see some work. Raymond Calais is also a possibility to be active for the Rams for the first time this week.

On the Bills’ side, linebackers Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds are both listed as questionable with injuries of their own, as is cornerback Taron Johnson. Tight end Dawson Knox and rookie running back Zack Moss were both ruled out for Week 3 on Friday.
