This week, the 2-0 Raiders head to New England to face the 1-1 Patriots. And despite the Raiders have a better record, coming off a big win over the Saints on Monday night, they are still fairly significant underdogs this week.
According to BetMGM, the Raiders are 5.5 point underdogs to the New England Patriots. Here is a full look at the betting lines via BetMGM:
Moneyline: Patriots (-239), Raiders (+200)
Spread: Patriots -5.5 (110), Raiders +5.5 (-110)
Over/Under: Over 47.5 (-110), Under 47.5 (-110)
As it happens, that was the exact line for the Raiders against the Saints last week, a game they won by ten points. But, Vegas oddsmakers tend not to use one game as enough evidence to change their lines much. Now, if the Raiders win in New England, that could change things as far as their lines and how they’re viewed.
All things considered, these two teams match up pretty well. Cam Newton is behind center now for the Patriots, taking over for Tom Brady who signed with the Buccaneers this offseason. Both teams have shaky defenses. And though the Patriots fell short last week, they still put up 30 points on a tough Seahawks team.
