Rams Week 3 injury report: Brown, Akers and Williams sit Wednesday

The Rams are playing it safe with three key contributors.

Although the Rams made it through camp relatively healthy, the injury bug bit them on Sunday in Philadelphia. Malcolm Brown, Cam Akers, Darious Williams and Joe Noteboom all suffered injuries, ranging from minor tweaks to multi-week ailments.

Sean McVay is hopeful that all of them except for Noteboom will be able to play in Week 3 against the Bills, but none of them practiced on Wednesday, the first session of the week. McVay said before practice that the team will be smart with Brown’s fractured finger, Akers’ ribs and Williams’ Achilles, giving them the day off Wednesday.

Aaron Donald and Andrew Whitworth also got rest days to start the week, but there are no injury concerns there. Here’s the Rams’ first injury report of the week.

As for Noteboom, McVay said he’ll be placed on injured reserve shortly, which will sideline him at least three weeks before he can be re-activated. Noteboom strained his calf against the Eagles and was replaced by David Edwards at left guard.

On the Bills’ side, it’s easy to see that their list of injured players is fairly long. Tremaine Edmunds, Dawson Knox, Cole Beasley, Ed Oliver and Tre’Davious White are the most notable names and will be worth monitoring as the week progresses.
