Prediction
Nationals 6, Phillies 5
Money line (ML)
The NATIONALS (+130) have won the first three games of the series by a combined score of 18-9, and have won four straight overall coming into Wednesday’s series finale. Yet, the Phillies (-143) are favored despite four straight losses.
Wednesday’s pitching matchup is an uninspiring toss-up, though both starters are coming off one of their most impressive outings of the season. Both teams are just middle of the pack on offense against right-handed pitchers.
Take the value and go with the NATIONALS (+120) to complete the four-game sweep in what should be a more evenly-priced matchup.
Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
There’s still enough value to take NATIONALS +1.5 (-125) with one run of insurance in the event of a loss. The first two games of this series were decided by 5-1 scores with Tuesday’s Game 3 ending 8-7 in favor of the hosts.
Philadelphia won the first six head-to-head games this series but two of those were decided by a single run.
Over/Under (O/U)
Take the OVER 9.5 (-110) due to the pitching matchup. Eflin is in the lesser half of his location split and Fedde struggled mightily against the Phillies in their first meeting this season.
