Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is a finalist for one of the NFL’s weekly awards.
Jones was nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 168 rushing yards on Sunday against the Detroit Lions in Week 2 of the 2020 season.
The other nominees are Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb and Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner.
Jones has been nominated for the award five times in his career, winning twice.
Jones became the first player in the NFL this season to rush for at least 150 yards in a game. He added 68 receiving yards, giving him a career-high 236 total yards. Jones was the first player to produce a game with 200 yards from scrimmage in 2020.
Jones now leads the NFL in rushing yards with 234 after two weeks. He’s tied for first with four total touchdowns.
Jones broke the game wide open in the second half when burst through the Lions defense on his way to a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the third quarter.
