COVID’s effects have been felt far and wide, and the golf apparel industry is no different. Renee Parsons, the president and creative designer of PXG Apparel, revealed what the 2020 fall/winter collection will look like for that company this season in a non-traditional way — at a virtual trunk show.
Her goal with releasing the collection amid the pandemic was to find “places where familiar friends sport classic designs, playfully reimagined for this new world.” PXG is traditionally known for its black and white chic designs, but with new added colors and prints this season, it accomplishes just that.
This is PXG’s largest release to date with more than 70 modern designs, featuring colors such as crimson and military green. Many of these pieces were designed for hybrid wear on and off the golf course.
PXG has explored more options of men’s bottoms featuring a camouflage printed short. The designers took an aerial view of Scottsdale National Golf Club (where PXG was born), zoomed in and created a beautiful, abstract camouflage print.
A men’s polo was introduced with a pattern of miniature golf flags. The polo has snap closures in lieu of buttons near the collar, four-way stretch, 50 SPF and moisture wicking material imported from Italy.
On the women’s side, the company released a stunning bomber jacket. A black jacket with a faux-fur white, detachable collar, with a leather PXG logo on the back. They have also recreated a similar look for men in military green and black. This jacket is perfect for a chilly day on the course or a fun night on the town.
Parsons was particularly excited about the collared dress she designed for the release. She felt there was a lack of polo’d dresses in the golf apparel world and she is confident that this dress will be a top seller with its contrasting design.
The past spring/summer collection was more golf-oriented. PXG had the goal to evolve into more of a hybrid line for this release.
The group pre-released 14 pieces of their fall/winter collection on September 17, and the official launch is set for mid-October.
