New England Patriots running back James White missed Sunday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks after hearing the news of a car accident that led to his father’s death.
White’s father passed away, and his mother was reportedly in critical condition after the accident. Tom Brady spent six seasons alongside White and shared a special bond with him throughout his time with the Patriots. Brady insisted that White was the Super Bowl 51 MVP and had all intention on giving him the truck that comes with the award.
Brady went to Twitter after hearing the news and had a message for his former teammate.
So heartbroken to hear the news of the tragedy of my great friend and forever teammate @SweetFeet_White. There are few people that come into your life that do EVERYTHING the right way…

James is one of them. Kind, gentle, loving, fiercely competitive and hardworking. His parents raised an amazing son. And we are all grieving with James as he is going through this difficult time. Love you my friend
