Odell Beckham Jr. is not up for sale or trade. No matter how much some in the New York media cling to the drama that often surrounds the former Giants receiver, the Browns are not interesting in moving on from Beckham.
The rumors cropped up again this past week after Beckham did not play well in Cleveland’s Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. New York media personality Mike Francesa floated out the rumor, one that was quickly debunked by several in both the Cleveland and national media.
Now ESPN’s Adam Schefter has gone on record that there is nothing but hot air to the alleged trade talks. That is consistent with the vehement, on-the-record denials by Browns management over the offseason.
As we’ve said before, and will likely have to say again sometime, the obsession with drama around Beckham is part of the price of having the Pro Bowl wideout in Cleveland. It doesn’t mean he’s going anywhere, no matter how hard some folks might want to wish it into existence.
