There was some speculation that, because the pandemic limited the amount of practice and contact, we could see a huge influx of injuries. The league went relatively unscathed in Week 1. It was different in Week 2.
The early slate of games in Week 2 was tough on some of the most important players in the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos lost extremely impactful players in their second week of play. Surely, fantasy football owners and NFL fans across the nation will be disappointed to see this list. Here’s a look at those costly injuries.
- 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, defensive end Nick Bosa, running back Raheem Mostert and defensive tackle Solomon Thomas
- Chicago Bears running back Saquon Barkley and receiver Sterling Shepard
- Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock and receiver Jerry Jeudy
- Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers
- Indianapolis Colts receiver Parris Campbell and safety Malik Hooker
- Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr
- Atlanta Falcons right tackle Kalev McGary
