There’s another young American star making headlines in Dortmund. After Christian Pulisic rose to prominence with the German club prior to his switch to Chelsea, 17-year-old American Gio Reyna is poised to have a breakout season in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund – and he got off to a perfect start to the year on Saturday.

Reyna, the son of USMNT legend Claudio Reyna, became the youngest American to ever play in the Bundesliga last season. In the home opener against Borussia Mondchengladbach, Reyna scored his first Bundesliga goal, giving Dortmund a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute in front of a socially-distanced crowd.

It’s Reyna’s second goal in as many games, after scoring in a DFB Pokal matchup last Monday.
