LeBron James showed no signs of a Game 1 feel-out approach in the first half of the Los Angeles Lakers matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night to kick off the Western Conference Finals. LeBron James had 15 points and five assists in the first half of Friday’s Game 1, while Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 17 points as the Lakers led 70-59 at halftime.
The Lakers were excellent on both ends and they also got a major boost from Dwight Howard, who played sparingly for the Lakers in the last round against the Houston Rockets. Howard drew back-to-back offensive fouls on Nikola Jokic and after Jokic picked up his 3rd foul, he sat for the final seven minutes of the 1st half. James turned his ankle early in the first half but had a few dunks shortly thereafter, including this one off of a lob from Alex Caruso, created by Howard’s disruptive defense.

The Lakers are only two quarters away from winning their first Game 1 of the 2020 playoffs.
