Prediction
Rockies 10, Dodgers 6
Money line (ML)
The Dodgers (-223) beat the Rockies 9-3 Thursday. It was a continuation of Los Angeles’ recent dominance of Colorado with the win pushing the Dodgers to a 5-2 season series lead over the Rockies. Los Angeles was 28-11 against Colorado in 2018-19.
The ROCKIES (+195) have dropped four of their last five home games against the Dodgers but Los Angeles sending Wood out there makes this a good spot for Colorado to get a home win.
I’ll SPLASH $50 on ROCKIES (+195) and double up on the run line. A $50 Rockies (+195) bet pays out $97.5 if Colorado upsets Los Angeles.
Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
It’s a rare 2.5-run line and there isn’t a lot of vig. TAKE ROCKIES +2.5 (-115).
Friday appears to be a bullpen/opener day for the Dodgers -2.5 (-106), which may not be a bad thing since Los Angeles ranks second in bullpen ERA and tied for first in WHIP. We are somewhat banking on Colorado to smack Wood around Coors Field.
Over/Under (O/U)
BetMGM might have priced us out of the total (13.5, O: -110, U: -110) in Dodgers-Rockies. The pitching matchup is ripe for the Over to cash but alarming trends force me to PASS ON THE TOTAL.
The Under is 3-0-1 in the last four games in Colorado, 5-0-2 in Colorado’s last seven games and 4-0-1 in the Dodgers’ last five road games with the total set at 11 or higher.
