With staggered starts and question marks still surrounding exactly how many leagues and teams will be participating in the 2020 college football season, former Gators quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow said he thinks conferences will be able to crown legitimate champions and we will have a national champion this season.

“I think it has a chance to be very legitimate, because while in my lifetime we haven’t experienced a setback like this, we haven’t experienced a pandemic like this, but there has been a lot of minor setbacks… one of the things I think is exciting about college football this year is the ability to adapt that these young kids have, these coaches,” Tebow said.

Tebow said with the return of the Big Ten to the fold, he believes we will be able to have a normal season and that it will be a test of who is most prepared to adapt.

“We’re going to see who adapts, who is able to overcome and who is ready to compete for the championship at the end of the year, and I like it because one of the great lessons in football is dealing with adversity, and that’s what a lot of these schools, these young men, their families are dealing with right now, and we’re going to see who can handle this sudden change the best,” he said.
