Jimmy Garoppolo let down the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 during their upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals. His misfires on crucial downs were costly, and his stat line (259 yards, 2 TDs), though solid, is misleading. He was a disappointment.
But in Week 2, Garoppolo is going to get right against the New York Jets. The 49ers will rely heavily upon their quarterback, in part because the New York secondary is awful and in part because its run defense is actually pretty solid. So Garoppolo will have a huge game with 350 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll set his 2020 season back on track after a tough start in wake of the Super Bowl loss in February.
