49ers at Jets: Odds, betting lines, picks and prediction
Prediction
49ers 24, Jets 10
Money line (?)
The 49ers (-304) are heavy road favorites coming off the loss in their home opener. We’ll PASS on a money line bet, as the Niners are far too chalky and there aren’t odds high enough to make the Jets (+250) an enticing play after their Week 1 showing.
New York managed just 254 total yards of offense last week and lost RB Le’Veon Bell (hamstring) to injured reserve until at least Week 5. The Niners may not have a fully healthy Kittle, but he should be expected to take the field with rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk set to make his NFL debut after missing Week 1 due to injury.
The reigning NFC champion 49ers are the more talented team at every position group. They’ll respond from a Week 1 upset, but we’ll find our betting value on the spread.
Against the spread (?)
Take the 49ERS -7 (-110) to win by 8 or more points. Following Week 1, they’re still +1100 to make it back to the Super Bowl by the NFL futures odds at BetMGM; the Jets are +10000.
The Niners are expecting to have a healthier receiving corps in Week 2, and they’ll again lean on RB Raheem Mostert and the rushing game. The Jets have no semblance of a functioning offense one week into the season and should be bet against until offering some sign of life.
Over/Under (?)
Take the UNDER 42.5 (-110) and don’t sweat it too much. The 49ers won’t be able to blow anybody out of the water until getting healthier in the passing game; WR Deebo Samuel (foot) is on injured reserve. The Jets may be a few drafts away contributing their share toward the projected point total.
