It’s no secret that Ohio State is going to be good in 2020. That’s why Oklahoma has fallen with the Buckeyes reintroduction to the college football picture.
The Sooners got off to a hot start to the 2020 season by taking care of Missouri State 48-0 on Saturday. Spencer Rattler threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns on 14-of-17 passing in his starting debut, but the performance wasn’t enough whenever college football welcomed back in the Big Ten.
Oklahoma moved up to No. 3 in the Amway Coaches Poll and No. 3 in the AP poll with the removal of teams not playing. In USA TODAY Sports’ poll, the Sooners fell from No. 4 to No. 5.
Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and Oklahoma round out USA TODAY Sports’ college football writer Paul Myerberg’s poll. Texas (No. 10) and Oklahoma State (No. 24) are also in his poll in the top-25.
Oklahoma is on a bye week before hosting Kansas State at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 26. It will be the Sooners first Big 12 game.
