The Brooklyn Nets have only publicly set one member for Steve Nash’s coaching staff: Jacque Vaughn.
But, there’s no guarantee the Nets’ lead assistant will stay in Brooklyn, even though he’s the highest-paid assistant coach in the NBA.
That’s because during seeding play in the Disney bubble, Vaughn showed he can get the most out of his players and make some noise — even with a depleted roster.
Of course, this is why the Nets interviewed Vaughn for the head job and why he has been connected to the Indiana Pacers’ head coaching opening.
Vaughn has now been linked to another organization as a possible head coach candidate.
With Mike D’Antoni moving on from the Houston Rockets, Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle is listing Vaughn as someone who could take over, reporting:
… after a stretch with the [Orlando] Magic and part of this season with the Nets, Vaughn is considered ready to run the show.
