Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians was deeply critical of Tom Brady after the quarterback’s two-interception performance in a 34-23 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.
Arians initially faulted Brady for both turnovers on Sunday before pushing the blame on receiver Mike Evans for one of them on Monday. The Bucs coach also said the team was well prepared for everything they saw from the Saints. Tampa didn’t execute. Their quarterback didn’t execute.
While coach Bill Belichick never publicly criticized Brady like this in New England, the quarterback is hardly a stranger to criticism. Belichick was famous for ripping into Brady behind closed doors. So Arians’ bluntness didn’t seem to faze Brady. He laughed off the comments on Twitter.
I’m used to it! 🤣 https://t.co/Ghne4vWYQ1

#Bucs coach Bruce Arians on Tom Brady: "He looked like Tom Brady in practice all the time so it’s kind of unusual to see that in a ballgame because they didn’t do things that we didn’t get ready for. Everything they did we thought we were ready for.''

As tough as that loss was to the Saints, the Buccaneers should be just fine. Brady and Arians should be just fine.
