Colts’ player of the game vs. Jaguars: RB Nyheim Hines

Nyheim Hines had a day.

The Colts’ Week q woes continue in 2020 as Indy dropped a frustrating game on the road in Jacksonville. Despite some tough breaks and questionable decisions in the second half, running back Nyheim Hines shined as a difference-maker in Sunday’s contest.

Hines finished with 28 yards on the ground and a score, but where he was most effective was in the passing game with eight catches for 45 yards and another touchdown, making it two on the day. He was the leading receiver on the day as well in terms of receptions.

Hines and Jonathan Taylor will have a tall task ahead of them with Marlon Mack possibly set to miss a considerable amount of time. Hines will have to be a constant threat on third-down situations especially. Philip Rivers likes to throw to his running backs and Hines could be his new favorite target.

The Colts start the season 0-1 with the hope opener next weekend against Minnesota. While this loss was heartbreaking, Hines and the Colts showed a lot of signs of what this team could be. If the early success on offense can be maintained, wins will follow.
