The New England Patriots will take on the Miami Dolphins in their first matchup of the weird, unorthodox 2020 season.
Bill Belichick is without Tom Brady for the first time in 20 seasons, making for a difficult transition through the COVID-19 pandemic. Cam Newton is now at the helm and his health will likely determine the success for the Patriots this season. New England had a league-high eight opt-outs, making things even more difficult on Belichick.
Miami is under second-year head coach Brian Flores and they’re quickly trending in the right direction. The Dolphins beat the Patriots in Week 17 of last season and they added a slew of talented players over the offseason. Flores’ team will undoubtedly make for a difficult Week 1 matchup.
