The New England Patriots have their kicker for Sunday’s game against Miami. Nick Folk is being promoted to the active roster as reported by Mike Reiss.
There was some intrigue as to why the Patriots did not elect to have a kicker on their roster. For now, the situation appears set. According to new rules, teams can promote two players per week from the practice squad to the main roster. They can also send players to the practice squad two times without placing them on waivers.
The Patriots are promoting kicker Nick Folk and DT Xavier Williams from the practice squad. They are placing WR/PR Gunner Olszewski on injured reserve (he'll miss at least three weeks).

Folk recorded five-of-five made field goal attempts in addition to 12-of-12 extra points in 2019 for New England. It will be interesting to see how he does this season, as the New England kicking game appears anything but stable at the moment.
