Auburn had two more players test positive for COVID-19 this week as 10 more players, five of whom are starters, were forced to quarantine due to testing protocols, Gus Malzahn announced Saturday.
The positives comes after Auburn had two clean rounds of testing last week. Auburn’s COVID-19 protocol requires for players who test positive to quarantine for 10 days, followed by a week-long reacclimation period before they can return to the team. Those who are quarantined because of contact tracing can’t return to the team for 14 days.
Malzahn expects the players to be back for Auburn’s season opener against Kentucky on Sept. 26.
