As long as the offseason has gone on, there has been a debate among fans and analysts alike about whether the Vikings will reach an agreement with Dalvin Cook on a new contract.
Cook was reportedly going to refrain from team-related activities until he received a revised contract. However, the Vikings standout running back ended up reporting for training camp with no confirmation of a new deal.
Now, that deal has reportedly come to fruition. Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Cook and the Vikings have agreed to a five-year, $63 million extension with over $28 million guaranteed. The Vikings team account corroborated the report that there was an extension on Twitter.
Cook rushed for 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2019. With the Vikings-Packers game just around the corner, Minnesota has locked in its star running back for that game and the future.
